Brushless Thrust Stand
Thrust Stand for brushless engine up to 2.5 kg (force) of thrust based on the sensing element of a cheap 5kg kitchen scale & 5mm plywood
Designed @ The Artilect FabLab
Instructions
BOM
5mm plywood
2x bearings from roller blades
200mm M8 road with nuts & washers
3x 40mm M8 bolts with nuts & washers
4x 60mm M4 screws with nuts & washers
4x 50mm M4 screws with nuts & washers
8x 20mm M3 screws with nuts & washers
Kitchen digital scale with a plater on a single sensing element
A Digital servo/ESC tester
The engine to be tested & it's ESC
Scale:
The scale will be used for the measures.
Open the scale, see pictures
Unscrew the sensing element
Fix the sensing element to the stand (if the wires are too short you might need to cut them & add some length)
Measurements:
There are two position for the sensor, the lower one (as on the pictures) which give a 1/4 lever arm, & the higher one which gives a 1/2 lever arm. So measured effort as ont the picture needs to be divided by 4 to get the actual engine thrust in kg force.
